Annatto
Annatto extract is a natural carotenoid colour extracted from the coatings of seeds from the tropical achiote shrub and can be used in either oil-soluble (bixin) or water-soluble (norbixin) forms. It ranges from yellow to orange to red-orange in hue depending on the application and dosage rate. This natural colour is a staple in the food and beverage industry, especially dairy, because it provides stable, economical orange shades. Certified Organic liquid and powder annatto is available.
