This role is responsible for managing the accounting functions of a manufacturing plant. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with corporate and requirements, and providing financial analysis and support to the plant management team.

Located in Louisville, KY:

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Lead month-end close process consisting of making journal entries, preparing account reconciliation’s, along with income statement and balance sheet analysis. Monitor and report on plant performance, including variances in production costs, overhead, and inventory. Review transactions that flow through general ledger to ensure month-end financial statements are accurate.  Understand transactions and adjust as necessary.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of the plant’s annual budget.  Develop and maintain financial forecasts, including sales, production costs, and capital expenditures.  Track and report on budget vs. actual performance, highlighting any significant variances.
  • Cost Accounting: Maintain the plant’s cost accounting activities, including the maintenance of standard costs and variance analysis.  Analyze cost variances and implement cost control measures.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the accounting and reporting of inventory, including raw materials, and finished goods.
  • Accounts Receivable: Serve as back up for daily cash entry, bank reporting, customer entry, and reporting.  Ensure balance agrees with E1 general ledger by reviewing system integrity reports.
  • Credit Management: Determine credit limits for all new customers along with annual review of existing customers.  Manage credit holds daily and take action as appropriate.
  • Accounts Payable: Serve as backup to Senior Financial Assistant for daily voucher entry, purchase order invoice entry and freight invoice entry.  Ensure balance agrees with E1 general ledger by reviewing system integrity reports.
  • E1: Serve as location expert in E1 (ERP System).  Help manufacturing with work orders and various daily transactions along with supporting customer service and finance.
  • Operational Support: Collaborate with plant leadership team to identify and implement process improvements. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support operational efficiency and cost reduction initiatives. Assist in the evaluation of capital expenditure projects and ROI analysis.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead and develop two direct reports, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management.  Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the finance team.  Collaborate with other plant departments to support overall plant goals and objectives.
  • Policies & Procedures: Ensure that Finance team follows all corporate policies and procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in Continuous Improvement process by leading or participating on at least one CI project annually.
  • Audit:  Participate in audit requests and preparing audit schedules and other reports as required and necessary.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting principles, and financial analysis techniques.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards, Oracle, SAP).
